What is Trip Cancellation Protection?

The Trip Cancellation Protection Plan provides an easy-to-understand cancellation coverage for your booking.

  • 100% refund for prepaid and non-refundable payments if your booking is cancelled outside the cancellation window in your agreement for unforeseen circumstances, including force majeure, illness, injury, death, weather, as well as airline cancellations. If your booking is through a 3rd party (examples: Airbnb, VRBO, Travelocity, travel agencies, charter booking agents, etc.), this protection covers the gap between the listed cancellation policy and the commencement of your booking with Bluesail Group LLC.

  • Refunds will be processed within 10 business days of being cancelled.

  • The cost of the Trip Cancellation Protection is non-refundable.

  • Cancellation must be requested in writing via email to bookings@bluesailcharter.com and can be cancelled up to the commencement date and time listed in your agreement.


When can Trip Cancellation Protection be purchased?

Trip Cancellation Protection can be purchased from the moment you receive a booking confirmation up to 45 days in advance of your booking commencement date. In cases where a booking is confirmed within the 45 day window you may request an exception from Bluesail Group LLC.


Is this insurance?

Trip Cancellation Protection is not insurance and is not intended to replace a comprehensive travel insurance policy. This plan is intended to afford additional flexibility and protection to each of our guests directly through Bluesail Group LLC. Should you desire a more comprehensive insurance policy to cover other travel-related expenses such as airline, car, trip interruption, medical, and lodging cancellation fees you should consider an alternative third party solution.


What are the most common uses of this plan?

The most common covered reason is unforeseen illness, injury, or death of a member of the booking party. The plan also covers cancellation requests related to the covid-19 pandemic.


How is the plan purchased?

The process is quick and easy, and shouldn't take more than about 1 minute. Follow the steps below:

  3. Enter payment name, payment details, etc.

  4. Confirmed, you are protected!
