We hope this message finds you well and that you’re enjoying the summer sailing season. Today, we come to you with mixed emotions as we share some significant news about the future of Bluesail.
Since our founding in 2018, Bluesail has been on an incredible voyage, serving a vibrant community of sailing enthusiasts, students, and families from The Dry Tortugas and Cuba through the Florida Keys, The Bahamas, and everywhere in between. Five years later, and only through the incredible trust and support from you, we've achieved numerous accolades and awards, making Bluesail one of the most reputable operators in Key West. From the bottom of our hearts we’ll always be grateful for everything you did to make this all possible.
As the tides of change flow, we find ourselves at a crossroads. Challenges such as soaring dockage costs and a steep downturn in demand combined with a continued local housing shortage driving away skilled labor have led us to make the tough decision to cease our operations effective August 1, 2023.
Luckily, our story doesn't end here. Born from the support and encouragement you've provided us over the years, in the coming months we will launch a new venture, driven by our passion for boating and a commitment to serving our community. Our mission - to create a dynamic hub of boating knowledge, tools, expertise, and resources aimed at empowering and guiding you on your boat ownership journey, and to be there for you precisely when you need us most. We will also continue to offer sailing education paired with brokerage services through our amazing partners at NauticEd and Just Catamarans.
As we set sail on this new course, we're excited about the endless opportunities it presents for all of us, including each of our valued team members. Together, we'll continue to celebrate the joy of sailing, creating a stronger, more connected, and knowledgeable community.
